FLAC would like to acknowledge that the lands on which we operate are the traditional unceded territories of the Wǝlastǝkewiyik / Wolastoqiyik [wool-los-toe-wee-ek] (Maliseet) and Mi'kmaq / Mi'kmaw [meeg-ma], governed by the "Treaties of Peace and Friendship" which did not deal with the surrender of lands and resources but established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.
